Community Education Provider Network
The Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance was successful in its bid to Health Education West Midlands to become a Community Education Provider Network. These networks have been established to support primary care workforce development. In the first year for nurse training and the second and third for doctors, paramedics and pharmacists.
Primary Care Nurse Facilitiators
The Alliance secured fixed term funding to employ faciliators to support students at Coventry University participating in the Fundamentals to Practice Nursing, Advanced Clinical Practice and Nursing Associate programmes.
Practice Nursing Bank
The Alliance is building a nursing bank to support practices which we hope will be live in early 2018.
Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INT Model)
The Alliance provides resources for GPs who support the 3 INT teams in Coventry.
The Alliance, in partnership with Demential UK and Coventry University, has been the host employer for six Admiral Nurses since 2016. The team support the needs of families and carers of patients with dementia.
The Alliance secured resources for the employment of post-CCT fellows by Health Education West Midlands to work in primary care whilst developing specialist interests in frailty care.
Following feedback from practices the Alliance established a series of CQC workshops to support practices with preparation for CQC inspections
Macmillan GP and Macmillan Primary Care Nurse Facilitator
The Alliance is working in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support to bring specialist cancer support to primary care in Coventry and North Warwickshire.
Bowel Screening Programme
The Alliance is working in partnership with Public Health Warwickshire to support the delivery of interventions with volunteer practices
